Mike is president of Use Your Words, P.C. a private clinical practice specializing in augmentative and alternative communication services. Mike provides evaluation and treatment for individuals on the autism spectrum, with Down Syndrome, with rare genetic disorders, and individuals who need alternative access methods including those with cerebral palsy and ALS. Mike presents at local, national, and international conferences and webinars related to AAC. He also provides consultation and training to schools and families related to AAC implementation. In addition to private practice experience, Mike has 12 years experience working in the public school setting, initially as a paraprofessional and continuing as speech-language pathologist. He served individuals with complex communication needs in a variety of placements, while also completing responsibilities related to Individualized Education Programming management. He also has experience as an Assistive Technology Specialist serving a large school district focusing on AAC evaluation, implementation, and staff training. Currently, Mike continues his 10th year in private clinical practice.
