Katya worked in the public schools serving children with severe communication disorders while building the Assistive Technology and AAC Program.

Dr. Higdon is a past ASHA Board of Directors Vice President of Finance

Dr. Meher Banajee

Meher has worked with individuals with significant disabilities and in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) since 1985

Jennifer Drenchek-Cristiano

Jennifer Drenchek-Cristiano

Jennifer began her career working in a private school for students with complex communication needs.

Michael O'Leary

Michael O'Leary

Michael has public school experience providing diagnostic and treatment for speech-language and AAC services to middle and high school students.

Mike Cole

Mike Cole

Mike provides evaluation and treatment for individuals on the autism spectrum, with Down Syndrome, with rare genetic disorders, and individuals who need alternative access methods including those with cerebral palsy and ALS.

Since the original application for AAC specialty certification, in rare instances, board members rotated off or have retired.  Individuals named in the grant proposals were active board members at the time of submission.  This page shows current, active members and will be updated within a reasonable time frame if further changes occur. We are grateful and appreciative of the contributions from members of the original petitioning group including Nicole Tripp and Kathy Beatty.
